Bradley International Airport
BDL Bradley International is located 12 miles (20km) north of Hartford, Connecticut and 12 miles (20km) south of Springfield, Massachusetts. The cab ride to downtown Hartford will take 15 to 30 minutes.
The airport serves the Hartford County and Connecticut area.
About 7,000,000 passengers were served in 2006.
There are about 196 commercial flights and 118 air taxi operations per day.
BDL has two interconnected terminals, A and B. Terminal A has two concourses: C and E.
The airport has 3 runways.
The runways are between 5000 feet and 7000 feet in length
The airport was originally an Army Air Base built in 1940. When it was returned for civilian use it became known as Bradley International Airport.
The airport is named after Lt. Eugene M. Bradley of the US Army who was assigned to duty at the army base located where the airport currently is and died while participating in a training drill on August 21, 1941.
Unlike big city airports in the Northeast, Bradley is easy to locate and easy to access.
From the East: Rt. 90 to Rt. 84 West to Rt. 291 West to Rt. 91 North to Exit 40
From the West: Rt. 84 East to Rt. 91 North to Exit 40
From the South: Rt. 95 North to Rt. 91 North to Exit 40
From the North: Rt. 91 South to Exit 40
There is no ground transportation, but it should take no longer than 5 minutes to walk between terminals along the enclosed corridor that looks out on the airfield.
The short-term parking is $6.25 for 1 - 1.5 hours with $1 for each additional 30 minutes. The long term parking rates are between $6 and $16 a day. The short-term parking lots are an easy walk to the Airport and long-term parking spaces are within minutes of the Airport, connected by free shuttle services.
Food options include restaurants, snack bars, fast-food outlets, cafes, an ice cream parlour and cocktail lounges in Terminal A and a cafe in Terminal B.

The airport does not have a chapel. There is no kid's play area, and the airport does not have an emergency room.

Post-security in Terminal A there's a Travelmart shop, a Brooks Brothers store, and a CNBC shop with an Internet kiosk, newspapers, snacks and juices, and gift items
